I think similar lines could be drawn to portions of Christian history and movements within it. One sect of Fransican monks actually hunted down and killed rich people.
I think every egalitarian movement could, in one way or another, be compared to communism.
I think it should actually be the other way around, I think communism, at its heart, comes from the egalitarian strains within Islam and Christianity, not the other way around.
The problem that I had is with government control/ownership of businesses and other such tenets that are totally foreign to Islam.
This is probably also the reason why some Muslims think you have to squeeze all the humanity and individuality out of a person for him to be perceived as a good Muslim.
