From the Washington Post:
A black man living in a high-crime American city can expect to live 21 fewer years than a woman of Asian descent in the United States. The man’s life expectancy, in fact, is closer to that of people living in West Africa than it is to the average white American

Bro, I think the american attutide to food and your general eating habits in the U.S tend to be bad. Your portions are way too large, everything is fried, the amount of people eating out (mainly on fast food/ high fatty/ high carbs food) is high and less people tend to cook from scratch as peoples lifestyles have changed dramtically and less folk take the time to prepare fresh food (partly due to long working hours, change in the traditional family structure etc..). Also, when it comes to travel, most of you use cars to go everywhere anf theres little movement on foot (i understand that the U.S is very big and distances between places can be large, even to your local shops). So its alot of things really.
also many black americans are socially and econmically worse off then white americans (who make up the majority population) or asian americans. The econimic status and dieting habits are closely linked and you’ll find that those from lower soci-econimcal backgrounds are less likely to afford the fresher and healthy alternatives. Good food doesnt come cheap. Even in the U.K, this issue is being discussed right now as obseity levels here in adults and children are rising quick and sections of the goverment had even proposed on a ‘fat tax’ on junk food and other high sugery/fat/carb food and lower the prices of fruits and vegables, although it didnt get implemented.
Like i said, I think there are many factors (some which are highlighted in your links) that contribute to this and its too simple to just say that its only black americans who need to deal with this. Your whole country needs to get a grip on this issue because the repocussions on the next generation are going to be serious. Alot of the young kids today in the U.S will proabably get serious heart/liver/kidney (and whatever other organ) dieases at a younger age, if they are not already.
As Salamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
I would rather live 66 years as a muslim than to live 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years as a non-muslim.
Sixty six years is a LOT of time! Al hamdulillah! That
