I think you have it right my friend, you have just failed to think your point through its logical end — the Sheikh may be self-interested, the sheikh (with our friendly support) will win/have significant influence in the next election, unseat the current retards, bring down oil prices, then want more power, etc. YOU ARE CORRECT - cept, not convinced this is bad — this will take anywhere between 10-20-30 years for him to turn on us, meanwhile, we have a significant presence in the region, make lots of new friends while there, and when the junkyard dogs snaps, we move on to a different friend — that’s the way the world works - we gotta be one-up on the other guy so get on board or get out.
There will come a time, soon, where moderates in the deen will have to take up the fight. If the extremists are the only ones willing to sacrifice and die for what they feel is the right way they will win.
The moderate majority will eventually have to rise up and smash the extremists or be willing to live under the tyranny of the extremist minority.
