7 Years Later

Everything changed on 9/11/01…It kicked off a period in which I have seen some of the most inhuman actions in my lifetime. It was just shocking to see so often over the past 7 years that some human beings are not only capable of such a lack of empathy and normal human emotion, but that they are thrilled at such brutality. All any normal human being can feel is sorrow and hope that things get better at some point in the future. At least for our children’s sake

I disagree with you “Everything changed on 9/11/01″ maybe it’s because I live on the west coast but for me life hasn’t changed one bit. I see how the event has changed the country (airport screenings, creation of Homeland security) but on a daily level my life as a Muslim is the same as before september 11th.
In his book “The Journey of Jihadist” christian arab Fawaz Gerges quotes a person (a history professor I believe I recall his name) who stated that
“9/11 didn’t change the world it changed how america saw itself within the world”
I agree with that statement.
I am willing to bet that the resident internet jihadis such as Samir Khan must be celebrating over this atrocity.
