Palin Agrees with Obama on Pakistan

…and McCain retracts

Saturday night, while on a stop for cheesesteaks in South Philadelphia, Palin was questioned by a Temple graduate student about whether the U.S. should cross the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan.

“If that’s what we have to do stop the terrorists from coming any further in, absolutely, we should,” Palin said.

During Friday night’s presidential debate in Mississippi, Obama took a similar stance and condemned the Bush administration for failing to act on the possibility terrorists are in Pakistan.

Sen. John McCain retracted Sarah Palin’s stance on Pakistan Sunday morning, after the Alaska governor appeared to back Sen. Barack Obama’s support for unilateral strikes inside Pakistan against terrorists

  1. I’ve agreed with Obama with a lot of his issues, but this is one where I have always disgreed with him with( and Sarah for that matter)

With Pakistan, I also feel that we should be more diplomatic and have discussions about this. Pakistan isn’t Iraq. I have the strangest feeling that if this isn’t understood. our country will open a Pandora’s box that wil make the War on Terroism seem like a picnic. Even though those terrorist are crazy, they guys aren’t stupid. They aren’t going to be so obvious with their plans like Bush was with his.

If Obama becomes prez and go through his plans with his, he should be careful and take this one day at a time. We already have one fruitless war. God knows we don’t need another.

  3. India will take of Pakistan.

  4. I don’t believe that Obama will go through with attacks on Pakistan. I think he is doing “tough talk”, to reel in votes. I think a lot of things he has said is because he has to present himself a certain way in order to reach the White House. Things aren’t the same for Obama as they are with McCain and friends who “look” the part…

  5. Ron: I wouldn’t bet on it; the jihadis’ activities are limited to Kashmir and the north-western frontier areas, i.e. around Peshawar. Most of the border is peaceful (much of it marshy and physically impenetrable) and there is not much terrorist activity and therefore no threat to India.
