“That’s Pathetic”

This week, the VP debate is coming up. Here’s what Cafferty has to say about Her Majesty Queen Palin.

The bar is set very low for her now. If she has a flub-free debate, they can declare victory

  1. Well, Cafferty certainly wasn’t lying. It was a horrible answer. Its not that she was faking the funk, but rather that she did it so horribly it was pathetic.

Politicians lie, BS, and reach for answers all the time. Her response however, was way off base and I think even a 12 year old would look at her a bit cross-eyed. I know I would be wondering if she even believes the answer she was saying if she were talking to me (and I’d probably ask her).

….I’d also laugh if she said either ‘yes’ or ‘why wouldn’t I?’

  2. Gee wiz! I know they set the bar low for her, but her poor performance is unfortunate. She’s not good enough to be admired by women in this country. I’m related women who would do a better job as VP, seriously.

  3. All I can say is we’re in real trouble. Pain (Palin) appears nervous, confused, and disconnected. It bothers me that she is one heartbeat away from a 72 yr. old’s possible job, which I hope he does not get. She reminds me of the way I felt when giving my first presentation in front of my adult class, after returning to school (23 yrs later), and having to cram 30 chapters into my presentation in a 5 minute window, while setting up the disk, charts, and video. It took that first, second and third class to realize that I had to be concise, stay on point, and how very very important being prepared was. Being prepared is 85% or more of the task. I appreciate having to work in teams and giving team presentations. It seems that Cain and Pain should return to some basic educational and technical lessons. Perhaps they should exercise debating with each other. What better way for her to learn and know about her lead running partner. Well Cain is probably too busy finding the cameras. Palin is showing what support Cindy McCain is lending. Could it be all fashion and looks instead of substance and forethought and job preparedness.

  4. The look on Couric’s face during the entire interview was priceless.

  5. To be honest, the answers and style wouldn’t bother me so much. I’d be happy to give her the benefit of the doubt, coming out to the big leagues, being thrown into the middle of one of the more important elections in a while. From what some people are saying, she hasn’t been that bad in the past. She did get elected in Alaska as governor, she must have done something right, they can’t be that drastically different up there.

I think the problem is she is being kept away too much. If they had let her do press conferences and interviews every day since she’d got in the race, she might feel a little more confident, and we might have a better idea how she thinks. Yes it would be nice if she had a little more experience, it would be nice if she had done some international travelling etc, but all those are details, what is more important is how does she think. If she can think and learn quickly, and has some sense of diplomacy (whether with internal politics or international politics), experience wouldn’t matter so much.

However, with a month left to go, she’s already lost way too much time to introduce herself to the public.

Biden constantly makes gaffes, but because he’s out there so much, it only forms a small part of his time in the public. Palin has done a grand total of 3 interviews, and half a press conference, give or take a half. I bet we’d feel more comfortable with her if she was out there more often, even if she has some views that some of us don’t agree with.

If she is like this all the time, on the other hand, we’re @#$%ed.

  6. So true Tariq, Palin “pretty” much just has to show up, and unless she does a Tina Fey, will be declared the winner. Biden can be condescending and may look like he is being harsh if he beats her too bad. Last week Friday, Biden, visited Milwaukee and had a very good outing. I wonder if he got any national media coverage. Especially since he met with the president of Georgia (the former Soviet republic).

I seems like Obama 1.0 is back. He has raised the bar, his new television ads are great. Instead of calling names, and showing how naive Palin is, lets follow the lead of Obama and get to the real issues.

  7. That’s what happenes when you’re locked up with Bush handlers 24/7………..you start speaking jibberish.

Did anyone understand what she was actually saying? I’ve watched it 3 times and still don’t have a clue.

  8. There is no excuse for her performance. If she’s been a politician for a few years now, she should know how to give coherent answers in interviews. Even though she’s new to interviewing for a VP post, I’m sure she’s had to interview for City Council, Mayor, and as Governor. She’s a 44 year-old woman and should know better. These interviews are like job interviews and I’m sorry, she should NOT be offered the job.

Anyway Palin’s moving from the Gov. of Alaska to VP of the US is like expecting the owner of a Mom and Pop store to walk in and (help) run Wal-Mart.

  9. Her answer was all over the place . It was like her mouth had ADHD and just could not be still or focus.

If these people win I am sure glad I am working overseas casue America will be hooked up and the only people to blame will be the American People.

We have had over 2 yrs to get to know these canid. maybe not her but the two main people. We know what they are, what they stand for, and who they will help.
If ANY person with 1/2 a brain thinks this woman is ready to lead them anyplace other than into the pits of hell then let them get what they deserve.

  10. Living,
Definitely. She’s surprises me.She out of all people should know how the tricks and the trades of interviews. She was a journalist and she was a state governor. If anything, it should have gave her some insight how to deal with the press and maybe a way for her to manipulate media to her advantage.

Some people say that her ill spoken interviews are a possible result of not having more more interviews. I don’t buy that. What I believe is that she doesn’t know politics very well and that is why she’s not being let out of her cage as much.

  11. The thing is, if you don’t have a baseline amount of certain knowledge, you can’t really fake it. I’m sure they have been prepping her to death, but if, as we all suspect to be the case, that she didn’t have a clue, cramming her to death is not going to make her knowledgeable. And it shows. Big time.

You know, it’s just like school. The best way to study for a test is not to pull an all-nighter. If you haven’t shown up for class or studied your notes all semester, cramming till dawn the night before is generally going to produce something that looks like the Couric interview.

  12. I agree, Haroon, the look on Couric’s face was priceless. Pain has supposedly had the training and skill of a journalist, and interviewed for public service jobs. Yet I’m wondering if most of the folks in public service in the formerly ‘New Frontier’ were not alert on their jobs. Face it - whatever she brought along with her in terms of personality, charm, and boldness may have been the perfect ingredients which added some sparks in the cool climate to folks in moose-land.

  13. It’s obvious homegirl’s been drilled to cram in a bunch of talking-points. She obviously doesn’t UNDERSTAND what she is saying, and doesn’t have the intelligence to even pretend to sound smart–or the sophistication to segue from one bit of incoherency to another. This is the first time i’ve seen her (don’t get out much), but i heard that she was STOOOPID. After seeing these videos, it’s hard to think otherwise.

    With Allah is the success.
