Obama/McCain Debate 2
Posted on October 8th, 2008 by Tariq Nelson
McCain seemed nervous and came off as a real jerk. Obama didn’t exactly stand out but he didn’t need to because he is ahead. McCain needed a knockout and definitely did not get it.
CBS Poll on who won: Obama 39%, Draw 35%, McCain 27%
CNN Poll: Obama 54%, McCain 30%
Palin’s name not mentioned at all. More importantly, none of Palin’s crap attacks were mentioned. If it is so important, then why not bring it out last night?
National Review thinks it was a horrible performance by McCain
Obama/Biden: 3
McCain/Palin: 0

I do agree. Neither one of their speeches has been spectacular, but their style was good. I did like it a little more when Obama had McCain told about not understanding foreign policy. God! I get so sick and tired of John McCain downing Obama about it, when he has a dim witted running mate who doesn’t know apples from oranges.Oh yeah, Sarah really has lots of experience.
So far, the polls are going Obama’s way. Every major poll seem to be in his favor. I’m hoping that the same with happen in November.
Obama takes the night

Here is a You Tube clip where McCain does NOT shake Obama’s hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN_wsMA_LJA
Why was McCain fidgeting last night? He is getting irritated.
McCain also tried to bribe swing voters with his $300 billion buyout plan. He wants to get the vote of irresponsible home buyers at the expense of responsible home buyers. I think this idea will probably get John McCain beaten. If this is on top of the already passed bail out. McCain has just blown it.
I am very much an Obama supporter but I actually think it was a tie. The pressure was on Mccain since he was down in the polls to deliver and he didn’t deliver anything new. So, despite that it was about a tie, Obama came out on top because he was on top anyway.
To me, McCain looked all the more elderly last night. And his body laguage was horrible too. I was annoyed that he kept saying the questioners name in each sentence. It was like he was trying to prove that he didn’t have Alzheimers.
And he WAS fidgety. It made me uncomfortable, watching him .
But then again, it was waaay past his bedtime.
I think last night’s debate spelled the beginning of the end for McCain Palin.

Again Obama refuses to go there. He shouldn’t have been more aggressive. Like when McCain stated that Obama thinks government is the answer and he said government is not the answer then Obama should a have spoken up and asked if Mccain truly felt that way then why has he been in government for over twenty years.
Obama needs to tell the truth about McCain. McCain is a child of privilege ,married to another person of privilege and has never had a regular job. McCain is not an “everyday american”. Nor is he a “maverick”. Obama needs to tell McCain if he disagrees so much with his party then why is he still a member of his political party and accept money from his party and raise money for his political party.
Obama needs to get more aggressive! One can’t be aggressive without being mean spirited or becoming a liar. Obama needs to understand this.
Obama reminds me of a boxer who instead of stepping into the ring to knockout his opponent he tries out box his opponent to hopefully win on points. Which rarely works when the other guy is trying to knock you out.
..”Obama needs to get more aggressive! One can’t be aggressive without being mean spirited or becoming a liar. Obama needs to understand this.”
spell check:
One CAN be aggressive without being mean spirited or becoming a liar. Obama needs to understand this.
@Hamza
Actually I think that Obama can’t be aggressive, lest he come off as the angry black man. I feel like you do, but I can understand why he is being calm and cool, and I think its working for him.
To be honest, I thought McCain had the ever so slight edge on Obama last night, more because when he was answering questions, he came off confident and unhesitant. Obama on the other hand seemed to pause a lot while he was speaking. While that’s more a comment on his style than his substance, it was noticeable to me.
Obama came off very well on healthcare, I think he’s got America’s pulse on that one, and I think that was the only stand out for me. Other than that, it was pretty even.
Again DON”T believe the polls McCain is still ahead if Obama supporters want him to even come close they have to get out in record numbers.
Ever hear of the “Bradley effect” look the only thing the current polls reflect is that some Americans actually have some shame in still appearing to support the stupid fiscal and foreign policies that got the country in the current situation.
Here in Michigan the same thing happened with the ban on affirmative action, “the polls” indicated that the ban was going to be voted down, but it passed by a healthy margin. Why?
Because many were simply to ashamed to admit that they are not for everyone getting a fair shake and that they want the old ways of neopotism to be reinstated.
As for the debate on substance Obama won hands down. two examples
when McCain tried to go to the well again with the line “he doesn’t understand” Obama came back with “his right because he didn’t understand why McCain was for going into Iraq when bin Laden was in Afganistan” that was classic
And when McCain tried to critiqize Obama as telegraphing America’s moves and not being serious for saying he would go after bin Laden in Pakistan if they didn’t do it, Obama came back by saying how McCain had been singing “Bomb Iran” and how he had made the statement “next Bagdad” when the bombing of Afganistan started. This proved McCain hawkish mentality
Then McCain shot his self in the foot by proposing to buy all the bad morgages and lower the interest rates and principle (hows that for the free market) yet still speaks of being smaller government.
Eventhough on substance he lost, since McCain did not make a total fool of himself he still won the debate overall and will still when the election.
The proof is look how the GOP is trying to frame the bail mess “well this is because banks were forced to give loans to people who couldn’t afford it, so the banks were trying to help and it backfired” people are really buying this folkes.
This is a mask for racial issues people, basically since banks were forced to give loans to poor minorities everyone has to pay. This is a lie!!!!
No this collapse occured because people who “already owned” homes tried to (and were told) take advantage of an ever increasing home value. Thus taking equity loans and rolling them over and when this riba based system reached the tipping point this is the result.
Believe me if this crisis could have been contained the inner cities (where the community redevelopment act was geared) it wouldn’t be a national issue. My friends they would simply be a casualty of the great free market.
No my friends it’s socialism when government stabilize the standard of living for the poor. On the other hand it’s national security when the government stabilize the standard of living for upper economic levels.
