Obama/McCain Round 3
Posted on October 16th, 2008 by Tariq Nelson
I called a close friend during the debate and told him that I know that I am biased but, McCain was coming off as a real jerk (even more than usual). That is the story of the debate: McCain is a jerk
Both candidates repeated the same substantive points, but this time McCain was much more annoying (Mavericky?).
Then the polls seem to bare that out.
CNN poll: Obama - 58%; McCain - 31%
CBS Poll of Undecided Voters: Obama - 53%; McCain - 22%
Obama/Biden: 3
McCain/Palin: 0
It’s a sweep
The Fox News people were still in the tank for the McCain campaign and claim a “big win” for McCain and momentum for him. But then again, they said that about each and every debate

its a sweep! nice post and blog — here’s my take on the debate:

I think McCain won this debate tonight. I just think that McCain came off as unlikeable though.
I still think Obama has no chance. The Bradley Effect is probably hiding around 10% of the voting electorate.
Thus, Obama is behind by at least 5%.
Salaam
McCain acted like a dick the entire night. I was *appalled* that he asked Obama for an repudiation (i.e., an apology) for John Lewis’ comments about his campaign fanning racial hatred. Just disgusted.
Actually the post debate analysis I saw on Fox was hitting McCain hard. A room full of McCain supporters stated he lost the debate…
Obama is just more qualified hands down…. It’s looking like Leonard/Duran II…. No Mas!
I just couldn’t watch Fox for very long. I saw Hannity and his minions gloating over how well McCain did and how this was going to change the momentum of the race and all that.
I almost was going to turn off my TV if Obama was going to repudiate John Lewis’s words. Why should he? because it’s the truth and McCain doesn’t want to afce that fact. He’s nobody’s father and he cannot make him do anything that he doesn’t. Besides just like Obama said, Sarah hasn’t apologized to him for making those statements about being a terrorist.I’m just so glad that Obama didn’t surrender his dignity to him.
I will give Obama the win because he’s such a class act. It takes a bigger man( in this case) not to bow down to his words and Obama did just that no matter how much McCain wanted tocontinue to brand him as a terrorist and even when he did respond, he wasn’t out of line. Just as calm and collected as he want to be. McCain didn’t show a lot of maturity when he did this. Just because Obama refused to lie for him he want to resort to name calling.
I share the same attitude as Obama. I can careless about Bill Ayers. It’s over and done with. Evidently, the FBI must not care that much about him or he wouldn’t be teaching. Besides, I’m more worrried about issues that matter to me and the people. Bill doesn’t pay our bills. Until that happens( which would be never), I’m focusing on the campaign and praying to god that Obama be in that Whitehouse.
