Stay Focused

When I hear friends say that this election will be a “landslide”, I can’t help but get irritated each time I hear that because the election has not been held yet. It seems like a ploy to rest on our laurels and not finish the job. Yes, the polls look good for Obama, but the polls are not the actual election.

We may read articles that state that Palin is already looking toward 2012 and that down ballot Republicans are ready to throw McCain under the bus, but we still have a week to go. The GOP supporters are searching for incidents to blame on Obama like this one. Since the Backwards B incident turned out to be phony, they are all over this vandalism incident here in Virginia acting as if Obama himself ordered this vandalism. They do not even know if Obama supporters even did this, but that does not stop them from blaming each and every person that supports him. This shows the state of desperation that they are in.

It is as silly as me blaming McCain supporters for the murder of the mother and brother of Jennifer Hudson.

For the record, what sensible person would approve of such a thing, much less someone running for President? Do not let these people depress the vote with these tactics.

We can not let up and whatever you do, don’t let up until the polls are closed next Tuesday. THEN AND ONLY THEN can we let up.

At that point, we can begin the long process of rebuilding our nation, restoring the faith of the citizens in the government and restoring the image of the US to the rest of the free world the USA.

We need change.

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.
