Burying The Love of Your Team

Make no mistake. I love sports, but this is ridiculous
Major League Baseball has authorized the use of team logos on a line of funeral caskets for people who want to carry their fandom unto eternity. Models for the Yankees (replete with interior pinstripes) and the Mets (with handles of mixed Dodger blue and Giant orange) went on sale at the Branch Funeral Home in Smithtown, Long Island.
Perhaps it is just that MLB is so desperate for merchandise sales that they are preying on the dead. It is not a new idea. See the pictures below:

After cremation, keep your ashes in your favorite team’s jug

Star Trek fans can be buried in a “Photon Torpedo” or have your ashes put in an Urn

subhana’Allah , the idea itself is depressing. You would think that with the mention of the word death that this stuff would become meaningless… subhana’Allah, inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun
My dad also had a friend who was buried in plenty of flamboyancy. With all due respect, My family and I laughed about it, not because we didn’t feel bad about his death( we did) but back then( this was the mid 70’s) he was really styling in his casket, those 10 million chains he had around his neck and the wine colored pin stripe suit. He really looked like a “playa” in there. Even worse, the funeral home that catered to him was the kind of funeral home that can be described as a “drive by” as you go thorough and literally look at the body and drive out. He was a man who believed in style(at least in those days).About 10 years ago there was a man from outside of Atlanta was buried in a Cadillac( as a matter of fact ,it was put in the Jet book). How crazy could they get?I have never understood why we put tons of money in stuff like this? The dead knows nothing and it’s not going to carry them to god because of it.
