Case Closed

After Adam’s murder, John Walsh could have quietly lived his life with the rest of his family. But he resolved to try to prevent this sort of thing from happening to another family and has worked tirelessly for the past 27 years. I admire him.

But in spite of the quiet strength he has displayed, it is clear that it is still a very painful episode in his family’s life. The police officially closed the case and officially stated that Ottis Toole murdered Adam

But the wound will never fully heal.

  1. That’s both relieving and heartbreaking at the same time. I can’t even imagine how difficult this whole ordeal has been for him and his family.

  2. I watched his video clip at the news conf. I choked me up. This is something that knows know closure for the parent.

Unless, of course, you are someone like Casey Anthony, who killed your own children and covered it up so you could go party.

John Walsh today said she was a mother who killer her own child and I think he is right.

  3. I remember this case so vividly. I was around 8 at the time Adam Walsh was abducted, and my Mom worked at a Sears in central Florida. When this happened, I became so afraid of being kidnapped. I actually developed a phobia about it.

John Walsh is a classic case of someone who took a tragedy and turned it into a triumph for so many hundreds of families across the US whose lives had been wrecked by crime. He is a true hero, and I’m happy his family finally got the closure, albeit painful, it needed.

  4. @ Umm Farooq

I was the same age and I remember the same feeling. Then shortly after that were the Atlanta child murders
