I would like to thank everyone who voted for my blog in the Brass Crescent Awards for Best Blog and Best Writer. I did not mention it before because I think that it is tacky to campaign for an award, and I saw it as a form of campaigning. That said, I really also appreciate and feel honored in just being nominated, much less winning for best blog (and honorable mention for best writer)

    This is an addendum to my recent reply. I hope I did not give the impression of critisizing the Salafis, if so please forgive me. They have really taught me so much these past three years may Allah reward them. Actually, I meant to say that none of us should partition ourselves off into little groups. We are supposed to be one big Ummah. I hope I did not offend anyone, may Allah forgive me, this is not what I had meant.
