Web Log Award Finalist

A friend of mine emailed me yesterday informing me that I am a finalist for the weblog awards under the “religion” category”. (This on the heals of winning the Brass Crescent’s “best blog” award!) I had no idea that I was even nominated, much less made it as a finalist.
According to the site, the Weblog Awards are the world’s largest blog competition with over 545,000 votes cast in 2007 edition and nearly two million votes cast in all editions since 2003. Voting is scheduled to begin on January 5, 2009.
My most sincere and heart felt thanks to everyone (and especially those who think enough of this blog to nominate it for various awards)

You see, that’s what I’m talking about, it is so easy for many of you to mock the Deen. Calling the posts on Salafitalk “intellectual mastrubation” is mocking the the Ayaat and the ahadith people posted; which is nothing else but the Religion.
I ain’t hatin’ on him. It’s just that observing the things that are discussed here, I wouldn’t consider it “Religious”; and when people do speak about the Religion, they speak from their opinions, not the Book of Allaah and the Prophetic Sunnah.
Congratulations, Tariq. One of the bonuses of working as a judge on the awards is finding blogs one hasn’t been exposed to and realizing that you can get a little insular in your reading habits. I really enjoyed the time I spent browsing your site.

That’s a bit graphic don’t you think? Surely, that could have been worded differently and still have gotten your point across?
Besides, these two (and others like them) provide a valuable service to Tariq’s site, first it shows his tolerance and forebearance for the ignorant, both of which are characteristics of the Prophet (saws) think “desert Arab urinating in the Masjid”. Secondly at least they are Muslim. Think about it look at all the images and depictions of Isaa (as) and other blatant shirk we’ve had to endur over the last month (during our two eids no-less!!) or so, so surely if we can tolerate THAT, then these two should be a piece of cake. Many of their posts maybe from la la land, but I haven’t read any blatant shirk from them. Secondly, these two act as excellent foils or arch-type deluded Muslims, which provide constrast to Tariq’s sober balanced thinking Muslim.

…And anyone who reads your posts knows that you speak without knowledge, make accusations against people with no proofs, mock the Deen, make statements about Allaah, His Messenger (salallaahu alayhi wa salam), and His Deen without knowledge and without evidence. All anyone has to do is read through the blog to see what you’re on.

As their own posts prove we have to allow them to post on their own behalf, nothing is more damaging to ignorance than to allow light the light of truth to be shown upon it. They are not our teachers in adab, so we can be cordial to them inspite of their ignorance.
They claim to speak from knowledge yet they refuse to disclose with whom they directly take knowledge. LOL funnier still they expect to be taken seriously.
I’ve yet to read of any past scholar or sat with any current knowlegeable person who did not say from directly where and directly from whom the knowlege came, that they were passing along. but the posers while I’ll give them credit for reading they students of no one but themselves
furthermore to hide knowledge when asked is wrong AND to pass knowledge without attributing or stating from whom you directly received it is a form of theft, westerners called it plagerism.
so these two are simply providing their own opinnions then name drop a few scholars from the past without authority as if this somehow supports their oppionions as knowledge
