Ego Maniac: Roland Burris

UPDATE: They’re going to seat him

But I don’t see a reason not to seat him. Neither does Senator Dianne Feinstein

Besides, it’s not like there are no other ego maniacs in the Senate.

I still don’t know much about Roland Burris, but I read that all of his children are named after him and that he has built a temple in honor of himself. No wonder he was chosen

  1. when will the senate GROW UP and stop playing Monkey in the middle

  2. Maybe I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but anybody who has a shrine built after themselves doesn’t impress me. It has nothing to do with his superior putting him there. I’ll try to give him the benefit of the doubt. I hope that he will prove me wrong.

  3. I couldn’t find a legal reason to not seat the guy. the more they drag it out the worst it looks for the party at a time when they need to focus on bigger issues. if anyone watched the house and the senate yesterday it was a very rough day. seatthe man give him his 2 years and then if he doesnt do a good job then just move on.

  4. Preparation for death and burial is very important among both southerners (of which Burris is one) and African-Americans. Many among both groups come from a culture well-acquainted with poverty and the indignity of not being able to afford funeral arrangements, so it’s not unheard of to make those arrangements well in advance. The “shrine” is in fact a family tomb, where not only he, an achiever who set many firsts for both his family and his race, but also his children will have their final place of rest. To put it more succinctly, “judge not.”
