Selfish and Ignorant Americans

The other day I got into a discussion with a young American of Arab origin who was berating Americans for being fat, selfish and lazy. I hear this kind of talk often, and in the past I have ignored it, but these days I have little patience for this type of nonsense.I have listened for years as I have heard time after time that my family is worthless and that my background is crap and that my upbringing is 100% worthless. I hear over and over about how we don’t care about anything but material things and do not care about our families. That may be true about many people - regardless of country of origin - but it is not true about all of us. So this time, I challenged this nonsense.

It was especially maddening for me because I am hearing this kind of talk from second generation Muslims more and more often who are thought to be better then their parents in this respect. This person is only in his early 20’s and was speaking as if he knew so much about Americans, when he is nothing more than a sheltered and arrogant, know it all prick.

I will say this much for him. He was saying ‘American’ to mean one that is not Muslim and did not mean to include me, but I took offense because he was smearing me and my family (no matter his intentions). Some of these ‘Americans’ that you all berate are people like me!

We may have our problems (doesn’t everyone?), but in my own family, there are many hard working people that care about their (nuclear) families. My paternal grandfather died while working. My maternal grandfather was a very kind man as were both of my grandmothers. My parents have worked hard throughout their lives. They were married before they had me. They do not steal, lie and cheat. They are not lazy and idiotic. I have simply lost the patience to hear this dogma. And believe me, it has become a dogma. If you challenge it, then you are outside the fold of this orthodoxy.

Then yesterday, I see what happened on the Hudson River. These same selfish and idiotic Americans allowing women with children to go first off the plane. These same selfish people were helping others in the freezing cold. Imagine that!

These selfish ignoramouses acted completely out of “character”:

Many passengers rushed toward the back, thinking that was where the emergency exits were, Mr. Zuhoski said, but that part of the fuselage seemed to be sinking, and flooding, faster. “I started to get, you know, close to my neck underwater. I just thought I was going to drown right there.”

He stripped down to his underwear, the better to swim to safety. As the crowd thinned out, he crawled across the top of the seats and clambered out. He said he believed he was one of the last people off the plane, and he swam to a dinghy that was bobbing in the Hudson.

Everyone else in the dinghy had their clothes, and everyone was dry. They huddled, and each peeled off something to outfit him.

What a bunch of selfish people huh?

  1. Tariq,

Though it’s not my fault, I am sorry that you and our other dear Brothers and Sisters (mainly converts) experience this type of nonsense from second generation Muslims. It really is bewildering how young men and women can be second or even third generation Americans and act like they live in another time and place (i.e., “back home”). I never understood that if they liked it “back home” so much, they should just go wherever they consider “home”.

I know you didn’t mention but I know from experience that this happens quite often with “religious” young people as well. Unfortunately this behavior is not uncommon. It’s certainly a travesty of our times (particularly in America) that we have folks that choose to behave like this instead of the dignified and rational human beings that our deen teaches them to be.

May Allah Guide us to the best of actions and speech.

  2. Pure ignorance. People who spew such nonsense ignore the fact that their own kinsmen are being bullied by even the historically most weak nations and societies in the world.

They also ignore the fact that the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) himself lauded the admirable characteristics of Western peoples to quickly bounce back from calamity and organize themselves. Look at America’s immediate response following 9/11. It took folks like the guy you were talking to completely by surprise.

By the way, my plane from LGA to IAH was directly behind this US Airways plane on the runway. We took off immediately after they did. Those geese could have flown into our engine and our pilot might not have been as skilled.

The wonders of Qadar and the power of Du`aa’.

  3. The entire world can see all the Muslim countries are selfish when it comes to Palestine. Which Muslim leader has actually done something instead of talking?

That second generation Muslim should look at the Muslim ummah.

  4. Never miss an opportunity to wave some Arabs’ ignorance, Tariq.

We get it. There are Arab dumb ass out there in the wilderness and who are racists too. And I feel sorry that you had to go through this and to your family. But as community worker, what solution do you have? Should they go back to their countries? Are you upset they they eat your fruits from your ancestors while they did not contribute much in American society? I just feel, you never be en true to your self why you hate these people and let us know why, while finding every mistake they make and blog about it.

The important question is, what solution do you have?

  5. @ gess

Where EXACTLY did I say that ALL Arabs are ignorant?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Did you read the damn post???

  6. The answer to the damn question is to stop thinking that my fmaily is dumb ignorant and lazy like people like YOU often think.

I get so damn tired of stupid crap from people like you who think that I am an idiot. THAT IS ALL I AM SAYING. I NEVER said that all Arabs or anyone else was stupid. But CONVERSLY, why do you insult us at every damn turn?

I simply decided that I will not continue to listen to this BS any longer. I will begin to CORRECT it when I hear it. HOW ABOUT THAT for a solution???

WHY do YOU think that I have to listen to people say that my parents come from shit while yours are golden?

  7. You’d think they’d be grateful living in this country. Look at the ignorant, tribal, savage societies they and their parents come from, and they have the gall to bad mouth Americans?

The thing about it is, these second generation immigrants, many or most of them college educated, can’t tell you a damn thing about the history of this country or the people and institutions that make it great! They’re just a bunch of arrogent, selfish, ignorant leeches benefiting from the sacrifices of people - Americans - who came before them, without giving anything back.

They make me sick! They are pricks.

  8. OT: Wasn’t it Lebanon (Sabra and Shatila), about 15 years ago (late 80s), that allowed Israel in to slaughter the Palestianians? Depending on which version of the story you accept the Lebanonese allowed the Israelis access (at least that what’s what shown in the documentarys in Jordan), and others claim the Israeli’s invaed Lebanon….hmmm

  9. Guess I should have used spell check and paid more attention to my grammar…sheeesh, I guess we are lazy.

Tariq, calm down. If they were back home, or even in another Arab country, they’d get a serious wake up call.

    Right On! @ Abdur-Rahman

  10. Don’t distract the issue here, Tariq.

I have never called your families names and I don’t know them and never met them. I am not even American, dammit!

For your information, you might not call all Arabs ignorant, but you use quite generalisation.

  11. Salaam alaykum,

If I were to take the brother’s statement and place it against Muslim countries, then yes, I’d understand your sentiments. However, against the rest of the world, the fat and lazy part I would agree with, and that is easily quantified by statistics of performance on standardized testing (I know they don’t test intelligence, just one’s ability to take the test, but consider that the majority of the world can kick our rear ends in on tests that are culturally biased towards western americans) and our obesity levels are indeed quite high relative to the rest of the world, even developed western nations (take europe as an example).

There are no doubt other contextual factors which may affect these statistics, but the bottom line is, there is some truth to those statements.

If it’s any consolation, those fat and lazy people in America include the brother who made the statement. It includes me as well, and I take no pride or feeling of either thumbing or looking down my nose at americans when making this statement.

And as always, these are generalizations (observable data of a particular behavior in a particular group of significant size), not stereotypes (all people in this group display this behavior).

    Siraaj

  12. You are quite right, Tariq.

It was my mistake to come here. I learned what I needed to learn from African American Muslims.

  13. @ gess

Let’s try this again. In the piece above I told you that I am tired of people generalizing of Americans and YOU accuse ME of generalizing. This is EXACTLY the kind of crap I’m talking about. I put in a little defense of my family and YOU attack ME.

Show me in the piece where the generalization is? YOU are the one distracting from the damn issue

  14. @ Siraaj

My problem is that he took himself out of the equation even though he was born and raised right here.

I am not denying the problems here, but no one should sit here and try to make me feel like each and every American is completely devoid of redeemable values. THAT is what I resent.

To the extent that there are problems, let’s roll up our sleeves and try to fix them. I have posted SEVERAL blogs on things we can do in our neighborhoods to help. Monday is a National Day of Service. Several of us are going out to SERVE instead of continuing to point the fingers.

We can sit here and complain about how evil all Americans are or we can actually see them as human beings and do everything we can to help.

And when I show a picture of Americans that does not fit the conventional wisdom, it is like a thorn in their necks and they despise it and hate me for it

  15. @Siraaj

Bro, you know that’s now how those “stupid Americans” comments are intended. They are intended to be insults, not technically correct statistical terms.

  16. Again, Tariq

You can’t get through to thick skulled ingrates. What you have said is perfectly reasonable, but for people like Gess it’s like talking to a brick wall.

These are selfish, selfish people you’re dealing with.

  17. “My problem is that he took himself out of the equation even though he was born and raised right here.”

My dad became an american citizen recently and he does this all the time. He still doesn’t really see himself as fully american and constantly goes on about the stupid americans like he’s not one of them now. I tell him to check his passport when he goes on like this.

And AbdurRahman Muhammed, are you one of those hillbilly a-holes who voted for Sarah Palin and McCain in the last election because you certainly sound like it.
Either that or you’re probably one of the whiners complaining ad nauseum about all those goddamn immigrants coming to steal your work and how grateful they should be just to be here.

  18. @Siraaj Muhammad

Man what the hell are you talking about? The post was about anti-Americanism among immigrants, not about health issues.

This is the grap I’m sick off. Stop all the damn deception and dishonesty. If you don’t want to live here pack your suitcase and roll.

  19. @anon1

Guess what? Those “hillbillies” as you say are Americans, and like other Americans I can deal with them because I understand them. They are part of this country and their ancestors built this damn country,

Who the hell gives you the right to mock them or diminish their contribution to this country. Why don’t you live here at least one generation before you try to mock people you don’t understand.

  20. “If you don’t want to live here pack your suitcase and roll.”

My comment about you being one of the hillbilly aholes further proven. As always, when people state that there are some truths to the facts that americans nowadays are fat and lazy (which, for the most part I’d say we are indeed) they’re told to leave the country. sad

  21. What the hell are you talking about you moron with you’re living here one generation. I was born and raised here which makes me just as american as you. And I happen to live amongst those hillbilly aholes and feel no need to understand or rationalize the ignorance that spews from their mouths.

  22. What a fantastic troll fight. Who will win, the side representing the “a-hole hillbillies” or the side representing the “ignorant leeches.” By the way, where’s Daud when you really need him to take the trolling to the next level?

As for the “Hudson miracle” you really need to post a picture of that pilot. Smooth.

  23. What’s the solution for those particular immigrants and their second and third generation descendants who put down America? Honestly….who cares. I’m American and I am going to go on being my American self. I was happy before I met any immigrants, so their rants about how bad America is aren’t going to affect me.

Most of the second and third generation children of immigrantst that I know consciously decide not to assimilate into American culture much past watching a basketball game or eating pizza.

Most never learn the nuances of American culture, so they frequently remain at a competitive disadvantage in education and the job markets.

Once a Lebanese brother was teaching an Arabic class to Americans at the masjid. The cultural differences became evident in the very first class and the whole thing fell apart. Sadly, this is the case with most similar classes. He was trying to force us into a Middle Eastern style of the teacher is the master and the students follow unquestionably. It was a weekend class, so we expected informality, lots of socializing, and in general to enjoy ourselves while learning.

When he figured out that he was losing the class, he started ranting about American culture and how everything is better in Lebanon. He especially railed against the American educational system. I found it odd though because he received his PhD and all lesser degrees from American universities and he is a professor. He hasn’t been back to glorious Lebanon except to visit.

I can tell you a story about a gas station owner who has been planning to move back to Palestine for 15 years. But everytime he goes home to visit he gets disgusted and comes back to the good ole’ USofA.

Another brother said Palestinians are the smartest, most literate, most educated Arabs during a recent discussion about Palestine after putting down America. I told him that if that is true, then they are wasting the talents and education.

I agree with Tariq. I don’t let this mentality go unchallenged any more.

  24. Sadly, I have heard these same sorts of comments come from non-Arab (ie, African) Muslims who live in the US. I am an African-American revert Muslima. I have met African (and other) Muslims who have said things basically to the extent of: “African-Americans are involved in gangs and drugs, but you’re lucky to be Muslim, alhamdulillah, masha’Allah.” Excuse me? Before I was Muslim, I was not involved in drugs or gangs and I still am not. My mother and father are non-Muslims, and they raised me to be a good upstanding citizen. In fact, many of my non-Muslim friends who are also African-American were raised in the same way (even those who may be from a single parent household). I don’t think that being Muslim (or converting to Islam) raises an individual up out of the susceptibility to involvement in negative lifestyles, nor do I believe that being a non-Muslim American automatically makes one more likely to be involved in negative lifestyles. Everyone has an equal chance of being a failure, as far as I am concerned. And nobody deserves to be stereotyped.

Muslims in general, but especially Muslims of Arab descent should be particularly wary of stereotyping, as they are often victims of being pigeonholed themselves. It’s very frustrating to see someone constantly criticise a place and its culture when that person (or his/her parents) has chosen to settle in that place and adopt its culture (at least to some extent).

I’m not a person who believes in “America: Love it or Leave it!” but I do think that people need to be aware that all places have negative characteristics and bad people. People need to be more sensitive when talking to others about those characteristics/people. Not that “fat” (obese) people are “bad,” but yes, there are many obese people in the US. It’s come from a negative cultural phenomenon of sedentary lifestyle and poor diet. But there’s no reason for an everyday person who may be of a non-American background to incessantly make note of it when speaking to Americans. There’s no reason for it be even be a topic of conversation regardless. Why be so critical? What does it have to do with anything? Especially if the way one mentions it is accompanied by an air of condescension (and generalisation), which is obviously what Tariq is alluding to. I saw no generalising on Tariq’s part in his post.

  25. Salaam alaykum all,

@ Tariq: I see your perspective better now and agree with the general sentiment you were expressing, and I like your stance of taking action rather than internet battling. Speaking of which…

@ Abdur-Rahman: the brother in question was himself an american, arab in race, as you are an american, african in race. That he doesn’t he recognize it and identifies back with his homeland because he is second gen is irrelevant to his status - I saw the post as about anti-americanism by 2nd geners who should have better tolerance and understanding due to the perspectives it was expected they would gain from living and mixing with the rest of the population.

That you continue to reinforce their own mistaken perspective of themselves indicates we potentially have two sides to this problem - how they view themselves, and how you affirm it.

As for your comments about dishonesty and leaving…sad.

@Pure Pundit: True enough, but you’ll also note that even insulting statements like that, while meant to be condescending stereotypes, do have some truth based on observation and provide a grounds for both self and societal introspection. Muslims are not all terrorists, but do we have a “terrorism” problem? Americans are not all fat, but do we have an obesity epidemic in this country?

When I run into such individuals who criticize me on an individual level, and I know that what they have pointed out is true, and I know they are trying to put me down, I don’t resist and try to defend myself. Instead, I acknowledge the flaw, stating that perfection is for none except Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala, and the best that a flawed human being such as myself can do is strive for ihsaan, for excellence, and I appreciate your feedback in pointing out this error, I have more room for correction.

Proving that that individual himself has flaws, or his intention behind making the remark, doesn’t change that I have my own flaws which need work. The reminder may be rude, but if I can take that and turn into positive energy to make myself better, then I welcome the criticism. You can use the same model of thinking for society at large as well, which is why I like what Tariq ended his response to me with.

  26. How exactly am I representing the ignorant leeches because I think A.R.M is an ahole hillybilly. He is. Sorry that offends you.

As for Americans who are born here not identifying entirely as americans. Well A.R.M’s comments certainly aren’t helpful. Neither are the comments I get from my moronic neighbors on a regular basis asking me if I want to apologize for the Americans getting killed in Iraq. Yes, they realize I was born in the same town as them and lived there my entire life and no I am not muslim (which they also know) so that’s also not why they’re asking.

I don’t feel a need to go around kissing the feet of Americans who’ve lived here for 12 generations. I’m grateful to my family and no one else and I really don’t feel all that apologetic about it.

  27. I also take great offense when people use the word ‘American’ to describe non-Muslims. Because I, myself, consider myself American and Muslim. Some ‘immigrant’ Muslims lack the cultural sensitivity to know that they are talking about our families when they use these terms.

  28. Excellent point

good post, it’s something that’s gotten on my nerves as well. as if their people are all perfect…

  29. Salaams,
    Amen Xey!!
Tariq, you’re right on about this one. I personally don’t see why Gess is so offended. The solution to ignorance is education. The first solution to racism is exposing some concept as racist and paternalistic. Then the next step is showing how it is false. Another step is working to educate people about the reality of American life, whether speaking about it, writing about it, creating education programs and dialog, and working to create more positive depictions in Muslim oriented media.

To add my 2 cents, I’d agree that a lot of young twenty-something sheltered second generation immigrant Muslims have some arrogant views about American culture (especially Black American culture) and their own parent’s culture. Americans aren’t Godless and lazy, although many are ignorant. But then again, the illiteracy rate in many developing nations is just astounding. Although they have their problems, folks in Muslim countries aren’t a whole bunch of savages. I lived in the Middle East, and folks aren’t all tribal and savages. In fact, you will find that Muslims are more balanced in their views about religion and daily life in Morocco, Egypt, and Kuwait in comparison to some young zealot in the masjid. I too get tired of some Muslims assuming I’d be a crack ‘ho if I didn’t find Islam.

They fail to realize that many of us Black American converts have to opt out of many networking circles such as sororities, fraternities, masonic lodges, happy hours, games, or any number of organized Black or evangelical churches that have helped many middle class and affluent Blacks. Many of us educated and professional Muslims get frustrated when our brethren just assume that we are ex-convicts or were all on welfare. At the same time, a lot of Muslims assume mainstream America is godless, when if fact America is a very religious nation.

  30. Hey, I used to be one of those folks who called all Americans “fat, selfish and lazy”. I grew up in a liberal college town where that kind of thinking was (and is) quite fashionable. So I bought into it.

But then I noticed that all the folks who were complaining about Americans didn’t have the common sense to find another country to live in. They just went on complaining. For decades.

Then I noticed that almost all of my friends were immigrants, or the children of immigrants. Then I realized that I was the child of an immigrant. Was my father an idiot for bringing his family to this country? And how about the rest of the people coming into this country? Are they all crazy or something?

Then I started traveling the world. And I’d tell all the folks I met how awful America is and how stupid Americans are and how they’re better off just staying where they are. And they told me that they’d be willing to trade places with me in a heartbeat.

And it started to hit me: this is a pretty good country. And Americans are pretty good people. And I’m one of them.

Of course we can do better. And we will. Striving to become a better nation is in our blood. Striving to become a more moral nation is in our blood. Striving to be a positive example for the rest of the world is in our blood. Very few nations can say the same thing.

Bottom line: I’m proud to be an American. We’re human, we’re flawed, but we don’t give up. May God bless all of us.

  31. @ Safia

Daud don’t get involved in dumb-ass arguments like this one. I comment when someone says something that conflicts with the Deen.

  32. @ Tariq

RE: “I get so God Damn tired of stupid s#$t …”

The Reminder benefits the Believer. The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu alayhi wa salam) NEVER used that kind of language. Your GD remark originates with people who invoked curses on others and desired that they be removed from Allaah’s Mercy.

Considering as much smack as you talk about people and their shortcomings, I’m surprised at you because it’s also very nigga’ish.

  33. @ Daud

You don’t even know me man. Don’t sit here and preach to me as if you never get angry. OK, that person pissed me off and I will remove the comment, but don’t come here as if you have no flaws. YOU of all people to talk about removing someone from God’s mercy?????????? Now THAT is laughable.

Yes, I got angry. But if the “smack” you are referring to is that I talk is about people getting married 80 times and stealing, then are you comparing getting angry to DESTROYING the lives of dozens of people???? How “niggaish” is that? I don’t call that a “shortcoming”.. IT IS CRIMINAL. And it is laughable that you defend these creeps while attacking people who would never do even 1/40 of what they do. What an upside down world you live in where a “good husband” is the one who marries 40 times and a “criminal” is one that is responsible and takes care of his kids. Can you not see Daud that the rest of us want no part of such madness???? You are free to live in that world if you like. Just leave the rest of us out of that insane Bizzaro world of yours

  34. Alot of tjhese same kids who talk this nonsense are the same ones 5yrs.ago before they decided to pratice Islam who would sit in cafateria and throw out plates of food.Spoil little brats, who get some of this rubbish from there parents or some so called dua’t who misguides with them with there gibberish.I had some these youth tell me that Islam civilize you guys when you accept it.Really basing black people lives on MTV and the subculture. You have to check these knuckleheads mentality .I am sick of this crap that most BAM brothers came from the joint and while there they accepted Islam and there lives totally changed .This notion has been pushed for years. Thanks to this website and others that crap is being deconstructed. We will our affirm our own paradigm as muslims born here in the United States. Those who assist in helping shape the real reality here may they share in this in this endeavor to shape the truth.

  35. This is 1 of the many reasons why it’s so hard to stay Muslim. I swear I feel like I’m in a gang. You don’t have to do the blood in bit but there definitely has a blood out component and that’s a blower in itself. I find myself defending things that I know in my heart are absolutely BS and I feel crappy inside for even trying to rationalize cultural crap or even some of the mess being passed off as Islam. Before the deen it was ok to question, ponder, reflect, but after you take sahada all of that is tossed out the window and any questions are seen as an act of war against the deen. So you keep your mouth shut because you’re so afraid that people will treat you as if you’ve grown horns for daring to think for yourself.

When you’re at the bottom of the food chain it just gets worst. You’re a minority, a woman, a convert, or only maybe 2nd generation; you’re not Arab or rich. You got more X’s against you and you haven’t even opened up your month yet. Heck, they got hadith and so called sheikhs to confirm your inferiority in case you get to uppity. They say race don’t matter but most will fight you tooth and nail if you want to marry their child no matter how successful you become, school you went to, or ayats you’ve learned. They got you traveling far and wide to get a sister the complete opposite of you and washing your kids in milk as you pray they don’t get any darker. You can’t get through an evening without someone busting you up side the head with a fatwah and somehow the women are always at fault and up to no good.

There is a lot of good in the deen but I can’t lie any more and have to admit to myself that there are some major suspect issues (slavery, beating woman no matter how lightly allowed, my testimony worth half, my inheritence continues to be unequal even if most of the woman today (USA) work full time, are more educated, with some making more than their men, right hand chicks, concubines, and basically every rule can be changed if it means it will please your husband) with it too and you know what? I can say the same thing about the Christians and the Jews so why be apart of any of it if at the end none of it has brought me peace but only stress, or more questions I’m not allowed to ask?

    Blah

  36. @ Rafiq

You are allowed to ask the questions you cited above because Inshallaah, getting them answered correctly will increase your eemaan. You need to pose them to scholars, and I’m NOT talking about imams and smack talkers in the west.

  37. @Daud

“Daud don’t get involved in dumb-ass arguments like this one. ”

I’m gonna use this one next time someone inquires about the whereabouts of Umm Adam…rofl

  38. Tareq;
Why did you choose this time to post this? Is it because Arabs are being killed in masses every day, so you trying to dehumanize them so they get less sympathy? You don’t need to that because they’re not getting it any way.
Have you talked to people from other backgrounds,Europeans,East Africans, West Africans, Hispanics or even AAs? I am sure some of them say something similar, why didn’t you talk about those?
Before one starts to talk about others, one needs to look critically to oneself and correct what’s wrong with it, then criticize others.

  39. NoName,
That is the lamest argument I have ever heard. The reason why Tariq posted this was because of a recent conversation he had with an arrogant young Arab American, not a Gazan. Arabs are not getting killed en mass everyday. In Arab countries spreading from North Africa to the Gulf, millions of Arabs are sleeping safe and sound. Get over it. Before you go and criticize somebody’s post, you need to actually read it, use your critical thinking skills and if you don’t them, go do some homework or take a class to develop some.

  40. Margari Not Aziza;
So the number of Arabs being killed is not enough for you. You just revealed how much hatred you have for them. That’s not Islamic.

  41. @Noname

Your arguement is flawed and in fact it is oddly similar to the zionists logic of the europeans oppressed the jews so now the jews are entitled to oppress the palestinians.

No one is negating what arabs are going through, yet that doesn’t mean we have to accept all the bs either from arabs. if my brother is in pain I’m going to help him, but I’m not goining to let him hit me in the jaw

why is zionist oppression the excuse for everything offensive thing arabs do?

asked to stop to selling liquor, jews are oppressing us

asked to stop suicide bombing, jews are oppressing us

asked to stop being racist and bigoted, jews are oppressing us

why do you feel arabs are justified in oppressing others because jews are oppressing palestinians?

yes arabs have a right to defend themselves and speak of their pain but they still have to treat their fellow muslims with respect in the process

  42. NoName,
I have a hard time believing you are real person writing with any conviction. Who makes these kinds of arguments?

  43. Salaam Alaikum,

Brother Tariq, I really understand where you’re coming from on this. I’ve even had someone tell me I couldn’t identify as British, but I could identify as not Arab.

It is ignorance. Did Salman Al Farsi (RA) not identify as Persian?

Sadder still is that lots of people in mixed marriages but up with this nonsense. I could never let my husband insult my family or background and he feels the same.

Anyway, my attitude towards such slurs is summed up by the words of Lucy Lui’s character Oren Ishi-i in Kill Bill:

“The price you pay for bringing up my … heritage as a negative is, I collect your … head”,

    Metaphorically, of course!

  44. The problem here is many of you cannot see that too many Arabs confuse religion with nationalism.

This is why I will always say religious unity is futile.

African American Muslims must build their own mosques and worship among themselves.
It is impossible to unite Muslims from around the world. The problems of the Arabs are not the same of those of African Americans.

There are wars all over the world presently.Humans were not created to die before our time. This includes the entire humanity, and not only Arabs.
Anyone who truly knows God,would not be concerned about only one particular group.

Immigrant Muslims from the Middle East gloss all over and ignore the genocide in Darfur.

Immigrant Muslims come into the Western world and have the nerve to find faults. No Westener could ever go to their countries, live well and find a job, etc..
The Western world is the best thing that has ever happened to many immigrant Muslims.
Recently, many are even migrating to Latin America.

But they know very well not to go there, proselytize, criticize or even offend the women there, because they would end up with” una paliza”( A beatdown.)

African Americans, please stop those losers from offending you.

You are much more humane and civilize than many of them. The immigrant Muslims could never match the contributions that African Americans have made to the United States.

The miracle landing on the Hudson is testament of the faith, strength, resilience, intelligence and brilliance of the American mind.

Also let it be known that God has never left us. Contrary to what some Muslims believe, that a Supreme God is only concerned about them and everyone else is an” infidel”, outside of the care and love of God.

The Spirit of God will never abandon his Creation, because we are His, and His will is that we live well protected with His love and care and hence recognize that He is our only Creator .

    Peace.

  45. Hey Tariq,

I know you have many times discussed the levels of Intolerance disguised under as Religion but people need to hear more of it.

I believe the number one problem in my Muslim community is the attitude of Intolerance. Too many times being Muslim is understood as being better than other human beings.

I’m wondering does Islamophobia also mean Muslims who are fearful and hateful of other Muslims with a diverse Islamic thinking (”My Islam is correct yours is wrong, Shia vs Sunni, Hijab vs Non-hijab, etc. If so then we need to tackle the Islamophobia within our own communities.

  46. I chuckle when I hear an Arab talking about Americans being lazy. If that isn’t a case of a pot calling the kettle black. Of all the people calling Americans lazy …..

Used to see this amongst immigrants back in Australia too though. “Australians are of lax moral character, lazy etc etc, things are so much better back at home” If things were so great back at home, why did you or your parents leave.

Its easy to find the shortcomings of a society, have the freedom to criticize the way things are done, but then grab at the opportunity to come here isn’t it?

We know the shortcomings of modern American society, there’s some things we’d all like to fix, but some of us also understand the opportunities and ideals this country affords us is not found in many places. If you don’t like something, either work at fixing it, or go somewhere else where you perceive it to be better.

  47. @Marisol

You are getting it “twisted” I for one stand with my Arab brothers period. I don’t care who you are (Arab, Black, White) if you disrespect me or mine (ie family, brothers including ANY Muslim) you are getting checked period. Also, I know for certain that Arabs have given a great deal of money in some cases MILLIONS to assist Black American Muslims. So I don’t have a blanket indictment of all Arabs only those full of ignorance. The same problem I have with ignorant Blacks

  48. Taken from Umm Adams blog:

    Religious Brotherhood & Its Benefits
By: Shaykh Saalih Bin Fawzaan Al Fawzaan

-Be Fearful of Allah the Most High and know that brotherhood in the religion outranks relational brotherhood.

    - He the Most High says, ”O you who believe! Take not for Awliyaa (supporters) your fathers and your brothers if they prefer disbelief to belief. And whoever of you does so, then he is one of the wrong-doers.” (surah at-Tawbah :23)

    - From the rights and benefits is the obligation to reconcile between the muslims when there occurs differentiation and disputes between them, or enmity and division occurs between them. He the Most High says, “And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you all against the one that rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah, then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable. The believers are nothing else than brothers. So make reconciliation between your brothers and fear Allah, That you may receive mercy.” ( surah al-Hujurat:10)

    - Also from the rights that muslims and believers have upon each other is respecting each other’s honor, and abstaining from lowering each other. He the Most High says, ”O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let some women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult ones brother after having faith. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed wrong-doers.” (al-hujurat 49:11)

-Allah the Glorious forbids the men and women from ridiculing each other, for it may be that those that are being mocked are better than the mockers in this world and the hereafter. And mockery does not emanate except from the deficient. And Allah has forbidden Al Lumz (slander), and He has forbidden insulting one another with nicknames, and that is calling a person by a nickname that he has not been named with, and al Laqb is what hurts a person when he hears it. Some of the Mufasiroon have said that from it is, ” Yaa Faasiq” (o sinner); ”Yaa Kalb” (o dog); ”Yaa Himaar” (o donkey). And indeed mockery and slander and defamtion with nicknames have been named sins by Allah, and this is a proof of its repulsiveness and ugliness, and its a proof of the obligation to stay distant from it.

    - He the Most High says, ” O you who believe! Avoid much suspicious, indeed some suspicious are sins.” (surah al hujaraat:12). ”And spy not”(surah al hujaraat:12). At Tajassus(spying) is looking for the shortcomings of the people. Allah has forbidden looking into what has been hidden from the shortcomings of the people and following the deficiencies of the people. ”Neither backbite one another.” (surah al hujaraat:12)

    Y’all need to stop tripping!!!!!!!!!!!

  49. I wonder why the Saudization programs have been complete failures. The reason is because the Saudis are lazy and do not want to work hard. Americans are the most hardworking people on the planet.

We cannot allow youth who are becoming muslims remain guillable.

We need a counsel of elders in our community that can share their wisdom and experience so every new revert does not have to waste years not thinking critically.

    Salaam

  50. Daud: Do you know what humanity is?

Or all you know to do is parrot readings from the Quran. You are supposed to put your religious belief into practice.
Why don;t you renew your heart with peace, patience, kindness, humility, love, gentleness and compassion?

I stll think Black American Muslims should build their own mosques and worship among themselves.

Arabs need to show some consideration to foreigners in their own countries first, including people like you Abu Usamah al Aswad, if you visit there.

And I will repeat again, if whenever they (Arabs)show up in Latin America with any nonsense and disrespect towards women or anyone else over there, Latino men will be ready to deal with them.

The last thing we need on our shores or in any Western country are confused, self righteous people who dont know what is going on, or the time of the day.
I have nothing against Arabs, they just need to learn to live in this world rich with diversity ,to respect all humanity, and to stop being intolerant.

Or else, while they are it, they can pray for a planet with water and oxygen and just leave the planet earth.
There is a reason God place all of us on this one planet. God knows we can live here in harmony and peace.

    Peace.

  51. First of all Marisol, are you Muslim? Answer that question.

  52. @ Ron

RE: We need a counsel of elders in our community that can share their wisdom and experience so every new revert does not have to waste years not thinking critically.

This would be great if BAM’s knew anything about Islaam. The difference between the knowledge that scholars have compared to the talkers in the west can’t even be measured. How are you going to compare sherman the “sufi orientalist” jackson to the likes of Dr. Saalih Al Fawzan!?!. Who’s going to sit on the council; the “imam of America”, siraaj–”I’ve been Muslims for over 40 years but I can’t even say salallaahu alayhi wa salam correctly”– wahaaj. You got to be kidding me!!!!!!!

Look at this forum, you have BAM’s arguing about the permissibility of throwing a flippin’ party!!! And to think, some of the BAM leaders not only endorse it plan on attending it!?! The Shar’eeah forbids such a gathering.

As far as understanding the Deen, BAM’s have been “winging it” for years using their own “understanding. Be for real–most of us don’t even know the Arabic language, so how are we going to go to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah and make our own judgements. The sad truth is, we don’t know this Deen, and that’s why we’re in the condition that we’re in..

We need to get serious and learn our Deen from the people who know this Deen best–the scholars; who Allaah praised in His Blessed Book; who ironically we BAM’s have the audacity to mock. Salman Al Farsi (radiyyallaahu anhu) set to find a Lord to worship, and he found Allaah. I ask you all: if we decide to set out to learn this Deen, and look for a scholar to learn it from, logically where should we begin to look for her/her? India, Pakistan, or our “indigenous scholars in America? NO. Our journey would have to begin in the Arabia. There are reasons that the Messenger of Allaah praised places like Medinah and Yemen–that’s because Allaah places scholars in these places to revive the Deen!

  53. That should be him/her

  54. http://www.existentialpunk.com/existential_punk/2009/01/mohammed-made-me-an-atheist.html

  55. @ Daud -

I do not know where you are from but I think you have been mislead. We have plenty of people who have excelled in Arabia. These same people have come back to teach. Moreover, many scholars trained in Arabia have come to teach as well. We have hundreds of people who can recite the Quran and speak the best Arabic in the world.

I do not want to get in some pissing contest with you on this matter. We have lawyers, doctors, and scientist among us who are well trained.

People have free-choice to live by the Sunnah or not. We must concentrate on the people and not the scholars. We have the power as individuals to fight against our own worst enemy, which is ourselves. Please my brother deal with self and be an example and it will speak louder than your words.

    Salaam

  56. RE: “We have plenty of people who have excelled in Arabia.”

Ron, this is false. Example: Islaamic University of Madinah has been open for forty-six years, and as of 2003; there were only 25 Americans who graduated from the Bachelors degree program. The Americans do so bad that sometimes they have moratoriums on admitting them. I know of this happening twice in the last several years.

Shaddeed Muhammad from Masjid Rahmah in NJ exposed how the scholars dislike people who drop out of the program. Alhamdulillaah, this destroyed the era of people going to the school for 1-2 years, dropping out, and then coming back to America acting as if they’re shaykhul Islaam. Some of these people have made mistakes and had to be corrected by the Ulemah. Even worse is the record of some of those who actually graduated, because they think they became independent of the the scholars; then they too begin committing errors.

I sense that there is a new paradigm because a new generation of young students are graduating. Ron, we must stay connected to the scholars, and learn our Deen from them.

Akhi, I understand we have Dr’s, lawyers etc. in our communities. But come on, as far as the Deen goes, overwhelmingly these educated people are the worst–and mashallaah, I’m from among that group. They think that their dunyawiyy knowledge qualifies them to speak about matters concerning the deen. But it doesn’t. All you have to do is go around to Arab, Pakistani, BAM etc. masaajid and you’ll see many dunyawiyy “educated” khatibs uttering calamities from the minbar. Why? Because they have no knowledge. I see popular, educated, and well-spoken people on the internet speaking, who can’t even get the issue of the raafidah shi’a correct. You see them praising them and telling the people that they are our brothers; this is far from the truth. We have a loooooong way to go here in America akhi!!!

Having Knowledge of how the world works and all that entails, is actually part of our Deen; but we CAN NOT continue to put that ahead of a thorough grasp of the fundamental aspects of the Deen !!!

  57. @marisol cucko-satti get lost with that corner store bodega mentality!!!!!!!!! We have many spanish brothers who are muslim that will beat to a pulp any spanish, black, chinese DISBELIEVER for the sake of their Lord Allah the most high…..unity and brotherhood is with islam and the muslims not your “Goony goo-hoo” nationalism…….As for the arabs in latin countries they go there AND bring islam, AND spread dawah AND build mosques, AND marry the spanish women AND then they become muslims….AND then it’s all over…..momma cita……..complende???????????? Unlizzted2009

  58. Saudi Arabian King Abdullaah pledges $1 Billion to rebuild Gaza. Yet you have people talk smack about him.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090119/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_kuwait_arab_economic_summit

  59. Hey, it is comprende, bobo (dummy)

And Cusatti is an Italian name. What would you know, you only read the Quran? Only ignorant and childish individuals make fun of people’s names.Por favor. Are you a real man or what?
Don’t you realize that I find your names strange? But I will not make fun of them, I respect everyone’s name.

And we do not have bodegas in Latin America.

You forget that Latin Americans will never abandon the Catholic Church .
One last thing, the beautiful Latina does not have an inferior complexion, and we find Arabs very ugly.

This is my last post on this subject.

    Unlissted 2009:
You mean only a few Latino men in the States convert to Islam. No one in Latin America has converted to Islam.

We in Latin America have nothing against anyone in particular because we carry the blood of many within our veins.

You need to visit Latin America, and stop talking what you don’t know. Muslims in Latin America either have to fall in line or live in their ghettos isolated

We have had Muslim Presidents of latin American countries , but they do not practice Islam in a provincial way like many of you.
Carlos Saul Menem, former president of Argentina was the son of Syrians. A Peronista,Menem did not extend his hand to any of you.
Muslims in Latin America have learned to fall in line.

Rule:Learn to live with everyone, then you will be considered a good Muslim.

    A few questions:
Why don’t Muslims from rhe Arab world marry African American Muslim women?
Why do you want to marry women(Latinas) who will Never become Muslim?
This is what African Americans should look into.

    Last post.

    Peace

  60. @marisol cucko-satti………ohhhh marisol your people arent in the ghetto in america???? pulllllll’lease I dont see many of you in the suburbs………The muslims ruled palestine which had many other religions…. peacefully and it’s documented until the catholic crusaders came and wiped out all that was other then CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN… “the streets were knee high in blood”…… Muslims marry who they want and what they prefer.. ….it bears no judgement in their feelings about other races….Racist marisol CUCKO-satti says:”the beautiful Latina does not have an inferior complexion, and we find Arabs very ugly” I’ve seen many latinos “black like a bowling bowl” So why mention complexion????????? MY argument is about muslims……not arabs… I DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT A ARAB WHO ISNT MUSLIM……..Unlizzted2009..16 people in a 2bedroom apt…. got the nerve to brag!!!!!!!!!

  61. Unlissted: I said beautiful Latinas and although I am white I included all Latinas.

Do you see Black people as ugly?

What are you saying that Black latinos are ugly? Have you eyes or what?
There are beautiful Black Brazilians,Dominicans, Cubans,Peruvians, Panamanians, Puerto Ricans,Colombians, Venezuelans and even many more.

Years ago a dance troupe from Brazil left Rio de Janeiro with some of the most beautiful dark skinned women. They were received with much acclaimed throughout the many international cities in which they performed.
All of them were propositioned in marriage by handsome wealthy men from a certain European city.
The dance troupe was dismantled immediately.

There is a Black Panamanian woman-Princess Angela of Liechtenstein, the first Black European princess. She is married to Prince Maximilian of Lichtenstein.

Unlissted,If you are Black or Arab,Why are you offending Blacks in Latin America with your “Black as a bowling bowl”?

Me thinks you are a closet racist if you are Arab and if you are Black American, shame on you, you have an inferior complex.

Black people are as Beautiful as anyone else.

I am simply saying that Latinas of all races do not prefer Muslim men nor find Arab men attractive. We do not care who you prefer. Period.

Last post to defend Black Beauty and Latina’s preference .

    Peace

  62. In my first post, I mean Latinas do not have an inferior complex.
It is funny that you read inferior complexion as being Black.
You are a sad case. You do have an Inferior Complex.

    There is no Inferior Complexion.

  63. @ Marisol

RE: “You mean only a few Latino men in the States convert to Islam. No one in Latin America has converted to Islam.”

You crazy. There’s a Masjid and Da’wah center in Mexico City!

  64. @marisol. cucko-satti……..came back to clean up her mess……Marisol Cucko-satti said:” the beautiful Latina does not have an inferior complexion, and we find Arabs very ugly.”…Too bad you cant edit your post Marisol…..LOL “Tariq Preston” why dont you add that feature???? Marsiol CUCKO-satti..has definitely came out of the closet…..According to statistics, the number of muslims in Latin America is over four million, serving as an example 700,000 (seven hundred thousand) in Argentina and more than 1,500,000 (one point five million) in Brazil ….http://www.hispanicmuslims.com/articles/other/latinamerica.html…….Marisol CUCKO-SATTI SAID:.No one in Latin America has converted to Islam…..That’s why I said your CUCKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and your a liar exposed soooo easily …..Unlizted2009..Comeback with some more lies I’ll swat them all day!!!!!!!!!

  65. Latinas prefer European men. Period.
Those Muslims in Latin America are recent immigrants and not converted Latin Muslims.
You seemed not to understand that many immigrants from the Middle East, rich Arabs running from the madness are moving to latin america because they cannot live in their own country.
Another thing, no muslim in his right mind can approach a latin woman in latin america and ask for marriage. Her brthers would not accept.
Also latinos usually get married in the Catholic Church. Get your facts straight.Catholicism is the official religion in many latin countries and will always be.
Islam has no chancce in latin america. We regard you as ignorant murderers and pagans.

Shakira and Selam Hayak are of Arab descent. You see how mainstream they are..

Blacks, mestizos,Whites and mixed people will never convert to Islam in latin america. We are Cathiolics and we do not care how many Muslims were killed during the Cruzades.
You killed many people on 9/11.
Again,Latinas and latinos do not have an inferior complex.
Only Westeners with inferior complex convert to islam. The western world is just advanced.

  66. One last thing, that area you mentioned-Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay are part of what is referred to as the the triple boder. Many immigrants from the Middle East are over there. Hey, Latin American authorities along with the U.S. have an eye on those people. It is a big Arab bazaar with its madness. Don’t ever believe you are going to come into our world and we are not going to watch you.
Latin America is as Catholic as the Arab world is Muslim. And this is never going to change. Jamás. Nunca.
    My last post

  67. Marisol CUCKO-satti get’s bustend in a lie she’s goes into more senseless dribble…..you said my last post 2 posts ago….caught in another lie!!!!!!!!….Look at the piece of crap “MARISOL CUCKO-SATTI is: she said:We are Cathiolics and we do not care how many Muslims were killed during the Cruzades…..the crusades killed muslims, jews, and other christians that werent catholic!!!!!!! Marisol CUCKO-satti also said:Shakira and Selam Hayak are of Arab descent. You see how mainstream they are…..I DONT GIVE DAMN ABOUT A ARAB WHO ISNT MUSLIM!!!!!!!!!!! Marisol CUCKO-satti also said:Blacks, mestizos,Whites and mixed people will never convert to Islam in latin america…..According to statistics, the number of muslims in Latin America is over four million, serving as an example 700,000 (seven hundred thousand) in Argentina and more than 1,500,000 (one point five million) in Brazil ….http://www.hispanicmuslims.com/articles/other/latinamerica.html………So who is marisol CUCKO-satti just the hispanics that are balck like bowling bowls??? or the lily whitey folks?????/ or mestizo mutt multi-bred zebra like concoctions???????…..unlizzted2009 EXPOSES THE LIAR MARISOL CUCKO-SATTI

  68. This is why Muslims are so ignorant. You know nothing about History. You spend too much time only reading the Quran. And you believe you can control the world being that dumb. Catholics are also Christians.

The first Christian Church was the Catholic church. Only fools believe that Catholics are not Christians.
The schism within Christianity came about during the Reformation, hence all the different Christian churches later emerged. Read ,Read.

I responded to let you know that Latinas do not want Muslims or Arabs when you say Muslims are going to marry us.
Why do you want to marry Spanish(Latinas?) women then? They do not want you. And I have never used the term Hispanic. When you called black latinos “black as a bowling bowl,”
    I said,
Beautiful Black Latinas from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Panama, Colombia , Venezuela, Peru, etc. don’t want any of you either.I also let you know that all latinas have choices.

I also mentined that there is a beautiful black woman from Panama who is a black European princess-Princess Angela of Liechtenstein.

You were the one who talked about how Muslims prefer who they like.
I told you we Latinas do not prefer Muslims or Arabs.
We find you unattractive and we do have men to marry and to and protect us.
What makes a man a real man in the latin culture is his ability to protect his woman. Our men are not like Muslims and Arabs who kill women(honor killing).
A latino would give a “paliza”(beating) to anyone who disrespects his woman.

Look at Muslims or Arabs, they kill women if they are raped. The latino is going after the man wjho rapes his sister or daughter.

Why would women settle for men like that if they can do better?

  69. Marisol cucko-satti said:My last post….Back again and lying again too…….Marisol CUCKO-satti said: “What makes a man a real man in the latin culture is his ability to protect his woman. Our men are not like Muslims and Arabs who kill women(honor killing)”…………….Reports submitted to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights show that honor killings have occurred in Bangladesh, Great Britain, Brazil, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Pakistan, Morocco, Sweden, Turkey, and Uganda. In countries not submitting reports to the UN, the practice was condoned under the rule of the fundamentalist Taliban government in Afghanistan, and has been reported in Iraq and Iran………every time your silenced Marisol CUCKO-SATTI…you see ECUADOR
and BRAZIL .http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/02/0212_020212_honorkilling.html….meeta-meeta loca…keep coming back for more silly racist, nationalist woman….unlizzted2009 HONOR KILLINGS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM AND IF YOU SAY MARISOL CUCKO-SATTI THEN PROVE IT FROM ISLAMIC TEXT….

  70. Marisol CUCKO-satti look at the countries you claim people are running to………..In two Latin American countries, similar laws were struck down over the past two decades: according to human rights lawyer Julie Mertus “in Brazil, until 1991 wife killings were considered to be noncriminal ‘honor killings’; in just one year, nearly eight hundred husbands killed their wives. Similarly, in Colombia, until 1980, a husband legally could kill his wife for committing adultery.”[41]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honor_killing………..cinco de mayo …that …..unlissted2009….any more self denial “ESSAY”?????

  71. Where on earth is the moderator? This comment thread has been incredibly immature and ridiculous!

  72. Tariq please moderate your comment section, people are abusing it with nonsense (i.e. Daud and his friends).

  73. this is such great information. thanks for the insight.

  74. The facts are these: everyone thinks about what is good for themselves and for their families. If this means we are selfish, then we are ALL selfish. The original post was place by a guy who stated that he was tired of hearing that his family came from shit. I’m not sure what that means but it sounds as if someone has made him feel that he and his family are inferior to someone else. That is always hurtful and certainly will never facilitate a healthy dialogue that will lead to peace and understanding. Everyone is defensive and sensitive about certain things, especially their families we have to remember that. But when verbally attacked, try to stay calm and answer that person in a dignified way. Do not respond in kind and attack them, but speak the truth in love. God wants us to remember that no matter how much money we have (or don’t have) or where we are from, no one is better than anyone else. Please don’t become embittered toward anyone. When we are angry and frustrated it’s easy give up and to lump everyone into a category i.e. “all Americans are.., all Jews are…, all Muslims are…etc. It is so much more work to take people one at a time, find out who they are and have an honest, non-defensive dialogue. It’s work, but it’s the only way to fix what’s wrong in this world. I think we’ve all learned that fighting doesn’t work. Jesus said, “love your neighbor as you love yourself.” If we really do this, there will be no more fighting.

  75. I am shocked at the posts on here that have absolutely nothing to do with the first post. As I read, there was nothing but name calling, name dropping and an evident desire to prove to each other who is superior. No wonder the world is in such a sad state. Very few people displayed a desire to listen to what anyone else was saying. Please, take a deep breath and think. Are you trying to make things better or worse?

  76. Please tell me Muslims are not doing what I saw on Atlas Shrugs re: Muslim men screwing 7 yr old girls as their wives. Is this sharia.

in Sudan 4 Muslims were convicted of killing a US ambassor and said that Muslims are not suppose to be executed for killing a Christian. Please tell me it is not so.

Christians are being beheaded in Somalia. Tell me it is not so.

  77. Point blank, in comparison to the rest of the world and our past some Americans of all races, classes and backgrounds are some or all the things the critics say above.I feel too often that domestic critics act as if only certain races.classes and backgrounds corner the market on these bad traits, so I sometimes question the smug talk about it but from time to time it may at times be some truth to it. I say that from the simple standpoint that topdogs(countries) often get this way when they get comfortable and we have until probably recently been this way. To be fair, non-Westerners have been often told by Westerners that they were the same stuff minus the fat and (sometimes selfish part.)That they were lazy. So sometimes frankly I sometimes don’t care-when I do not all that much- when this happen. But every now and then I sometimes find the criticism redundant and somewhat hypocritical depending on I guess the context or motive when it is done too often because many of the folks criticizing pick up the same traits they rail against if they don’t already have them to begin with. Sometimes this happens out of just the need to plain survive and the need to fit in(when in Rome-do as the Romans do kinda thing); but sometimes some get this way out of plain old greed and stuff too. That’s what I find kinda goofy. I can concede that your criticisms may have truth although this may not apply to everybody, but your criticism stand out as silly when you have the same traits you say folks that I know have for similar-really some of the same- reasons. I hope I am kinda clear on what I am saying because the thing I see with “some”-note some- immigrants is that even though they often flee political, social, hardship,or whatever some often come to make money too.I DON’T BLAME THEM but some focus on the same stuff they criticize-at times sometimes rightly- others about which get kinda counterproductive after a while because if you are as greedy or whatever as me, what’s the point on giving me advice to not be the same way. Then again I guess I suck it up because it seem sometimes some Westerners love to preach to others but can’t never take anybody else advice; but I sometimes laugh to myself a little at some immigrant folks talking about us yet acting the same way because many come here partly/mainly to make money too. I rambled too long. I know. I’m done.

  78. Do Yanks really believe it is only Muslim imigrants who despise them. I am a white Anglo-Saxon non-american male who has visited US and hated the conceited, arrogant attitude of the vast majority of ignorant shits who live there. I dont care how much money you have. I would not live in usa no matter what. I live in the best country in the world, but I cant tell you where, coz I dont want you here. One day SOON usa will fall off its perch and all the yanks will be laying there going DDDDDUUHH. Theyre so fucking dumb they dont know why everybody hates them. Go fuck.
