Stylish (?) Green Homes

They call THIS stylish?

I’ve seen about as much “style” in trailer parks. All that is missing is a 1978 Trans Am on blocks out front. (OK, it is nice on the inside) It comes with all the latest ‘green’ amenities, including tank less water heater and solar panels starts at $100,000 (not including the land) and is powered for about $1/day. The problem is that you’d probably have to move this into a trailer park in many localities.

I expect more conventional homes to have these ‘green’ features in the future rather than people switching to what are essentially mobile homes. The United States is just too geographically large for such homes to catch on, and I suspect they will meet approval in urban areas…(i.e., wouldn’t expect to see many of these in New York City)

  1. It’s not the exterior to worry about, it’s the interior. I’ve seen some TV shows that featured very boxy looking homes (especially vacation homes) that some might not think of as “stylish,” but they were sooo beautiful on the inside. I’d buy a place like those any day. And most of us here in S’pore live in buildings that look like the projects in America on the outside but, as everyone here knows, it’s the interior that counts.

  2. It’s a trailer / houseboat hybrid.

Looks like a house that you could take on a camping trip with you.

  3. I like it, although yurts are so much better! Check out http://yurtworks.com/

  4. I think it’s cute. :)

  5. From the outside it’s ewww, but the inside is cool.Even though it’s meant for the environment, I just cannot see myself spending X amount of money for it.
