I think we should wait until more facts are revealed before judging this man?

    Salaam

What additional facts do you need to know?

  4. What a coward!

They looked like a relatively well-to-do family. He should have just killed himself. The poor kids didn’t deserve this. America is a nation of whiners and cowards [it seems].

Recently in Egypt a man killed his wife and two children because he lost his fortune in the stock market. He tried killing himself but did not succeed. His children were both adults with good jobs. It did not cross my mind that Egypt is a nation of whiners and cowards.

  7. What a sad story.

This really tells you how bad things really are with the economy when a man is distraught about the loss of his job and takes it out on himself and his family. I wished that he would have handled his frustrations in a not so tragic manner, but he probably didn’t see no other way out except this one, ( though I will never agree with the actions). I just wish that he could have been strong and talk to somebody about this. Yes, he may be feeling the strains of the job loss, but maybe, just maybe, he would have thought better of himself and his family.

  8. Wow. What do you say to that story? I feel like I want to vomit.

  9. At the risk of sounding crass–this is the crux of the problem–They LOOKED relatively well-to-do, but in reality they were probably broke, living pay check to paycheck, big house, two cars and all their comfort items bought on credit. They had five kids and two maybe non-degreed jobs, they were stretched tight, allahualim.
As someone whose parent lost a home after the death of a spouse (loss of income) I know it can all be taken away very abruptly.
Still, it is shocking that this was seen as the only solution. If you can’t have it all, you rather have nothing? Keeping up with the Jones has hit a new level.

  10. Man! I don’t know what to say about this chaotic world of ours. One day you hear about an elderly Michigan man who literally froze to death in his Michigan home( I still cannot get over how it was for him.Literal Icicles formed in his home. Wow! Just plain unbelievable! I cannot see how city authorities could live with themselves doing it.). Now this. Geez!

From what I heard on the radio he was distraught about his job because his boss just did a fire- at- will number. His grandmother( who lives here in ATL) said that she didn’t hear him for a while as he was always working. I think that his grandmother wanted to see him, but not like this.

I didn’t get to hear all of what the DJ was saying about it, but if that if the man did it from the request of his wife, then it would be a shame and a deep tragedy. Maybe they were so out of it that they didn’t see that there were a way out of the problems and only seen this as their only option. No matter how we put, it’s incomprehensible and very sad.

At least if he and his wife( It was said that the wife wanted him to do it) was planning to take their lives, they should have took them kids elsewhere or left them with the grandmother or( if she was able to do it) someone
I also wished that they would have been strong enough to be their for his family. I just wished they would have seen this as a trial that was going to pass. Yes, it’s no denial that times are rough, but it would have been nice if they could have been strong enough to live for their kids.

I think about those days when my pops abandoned my family. It was extremely hard on my mom and my brother had to be the man of the family. It was very hard on all of us.
So far, my job is ok, but that all can change in an instant as we all witnessed the other day with Home Depot. My mom isn’t in the greatest of health and my dad isn’t as well either and there are times where it all can get overwhelming, but I just never had frustrations where I wanted to take their lives or the lives of other people.(then again no two people are alike) Even though my father has wronged us, I never wanted to do that to him or my folks. Everybody has their their and God is taking care of him. What keeps me going is my neighbors, who remind me that everything will be ok if I don’t give up on life. So far , they have been right.

Maybe , just maybe if they would have talked with some understanding people, he would probably thought better of his family.

  11. Shows me that material goods were more important than his family.

Even if I was flat broke living in a cabin like Grizzly Adams I’d still want my family.

  12. Great site and I am loving it! Will come back again - Thanks.
